Aleta Wolfe,
was born and raised in
Southern
California .She has been a professional makeup artist
for the the past 20 years, working in TV, Film, Print,
Press Junkets and documentaries. Aleta is based in NY/NJ and a Journeyman member of Local #798.
She attended UCLA for Fine Arts and English.
She has always worked within the creative arena and
has been a successful clothing designer and the owner of a boutique.
Her inspiration & philosophy of the craft of makeup stems from her love
of painting, photography, and the forms and colors of
nature. To enhance, create and capture beauty, or to
transform based on the needs of a character are all
part her enjoyment in being a makeup artist.
The enjoyment of her craft comes with professionalism and tenacity to face potential challenges and a long day of filming. Always with a calm demeanor.
Aleta has been an avid world traveler most of her
life. Being a lover of culture and history and seeing
the world with an artists eye is evident in her
personal style and artistic endeavors. She has traveled
extensively in South and Central America,
Australia, Asia, No. Africa, Europe, Mexico (living
for 3yrs) and Turkey.
She has worked on several feature films over the
years, Dept Head on several independent films , and as
an additional makeup artist on several major productions.
That experience includes The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,
HBO mini series I Know This Much is True, Manifest, Saturday Night Live,
Today Show, The Early Show,
60 Min.,Dateline,Nightly News, CNN to name a few.
Some commercial credits as key makeup artist are;
SPCA LA, Mc Cormick Spices, Loews, Fidelity
Investments, AXA Insurance Spain, Seventeen
Magazine, Washington Capitols (for Washington DC)
AT&T, BREIL Watches Italy,
Aleta had the good fortune after high school while
living in Mexico to work on the sets of Dune and Conan
The Barbarian in different capacities. Sometime PA, and
part-time assistant to Carlo Rambaldi (designer of
ET, King Kong and many other projects).
Aleta lives in Garrison, NY, on the Hudson River, with
her two loving dogs Mingus & Jet.
